What was your life like before TopMusicPro?

My name is Catherine Falce. I live in Melbourne, Australia and the primary instrument I teach is piano. I have my private practice where I teach from at home.

Before I joined TopMusicPro, I was in an isolated cocoon-like environment. You can end up in your own little world, just teaching your students and hoping you are doing the right thing.

It is not until later that you realise there are other people out there with these wonderful ideas. Picking up a little bit here and a little bit there and putting it all together can help you to improve your methods.

What changed for you after working with TopMusicPro?

The biggest thing I have gotten out of TopMusicPro is the affirmation that I am on the right track. I can see now that I am a good teacher and I have got the skills to succeed.

I have seen some great methods that I have borrowed or adapted, but there have also been some great ideas I have offered to others, which has been reaffirming.

The open communication with other teachers as well has been lovely and helps me feel like part of a bigger community.

What are your favourite resources from TopMusicPro?

I think the best resource for me was the ability to talk with other teachers. We can share ideas and there is a place to discuss our teaching ideas and methods.

With TopMusicPro, I can follow the discussion in a nice way. Facebook serves a purpose in that as well, but it does not group topics in the same way.

The forum is organised in a way that allows you to revisit ideas that you have discussed in the past easily. I can come back later when it is relevant again and get more value from that interaction.

Is TopMusicPro worth the investment?

TopMusicPro is definitely worth the investment. I believe that when you are trying to improve your practices, you need to have a lot of different ideas coming in.

It can be overwhelming at the start, but the resources and ideas in TopMusicPro are truly priceless.

Would you recommend TopMusicPro?

I would definitely recommend TopMusicPro. I think it is great for all sorts of teachers and all different personality types because we all end up learning from each other. TopMusicPro is not only for outgoing people.

You do not need to talk to anybody unless you choose to. It is easy to jump on there and do a couple of the courses, see the videos, and then if you have questions, just ask it in the forum. You do not have to start off big, just start with baby steps!
