Transform your students into fearless improvisers.

A fun and low-pressure way to teach blues improvisation.

Teaching the 12 Bar Blues Course

Many piano teachers want to teach blues and improvisation.

But knowing where to start can feel overwhelming.

โ€œWhat if I donโ€™t know enough?โ€

โ€œWhat if students ask me something I canโ€™t answer?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not a confident improviser, so how can I teach my students to do it?โ€

The fear of doing it โ€œwrongโ€ holds you back - especially if you didnโ€™t grow up learning it yourself.

Teaching improvisation can feel risky, confusing, and even intimidatingโ€ฆ

That is, until someone shows you how blues improvisation works and gives you a clear plan to teach it with confidence.

The 12 Bar Blues Course will help you go from unsure to unstoppable when it comes to teaching blues improvisation.

Improvisation doesnโ€™t have to be scary (for you or your students).

This course gives you a step-by-step framework to teach the 12-bar blues confidently to students of any age and ability.

You'll learn to:

โœ”๏ธ Play (and teach) the 12-bar blues structure with the correct fingers

โœ”๏ธ Improvise a melody using the notes of the blues scale

โœ”๏ธ Add a left-hand accompaniment (boogie, jazz, blues, walking bass line)

โœ”๏ธ Experiment with chords (alternating between fifths and sixths, and even adding in a flattened seventh)

โœ”๏ธ Use backing tracks, iReal Pro, and Garageband to make improvisations come alive

I have been scared to try this, and you have made it so fun and non-threateningโ€ฆ Thank you for giving me the tools so that I can broaden the horizons of my students.โ€
