Sydney in April is my favourite time of year.

The mornings are crisp but not cold. The harbour light turns soft and golden. The air feels fresh in that “let’s go do something” kind of way. And if you’re a surfer like me, the swell quietly starts coming back to life.

It’s that sweet spot where the city feels energised but calm. Alive but not chaotic.

Walsh Bay, where the theatre sits, is one of my favourite pockets of Sydney. Timber wharves, water on both sides, creative energy in the buildings. You walk along that boardwalk and you can feel something’s about to happen.

And for a room full of music teachers? Oh, we’re going to make some noise in the best way.

Sydney is beautifully compact.
