Where to stay in Sydney for TopMusicLive

One of the best things about coming to TopMusicLive is finding a great place to stay. Hereโ€™s our quick accommodation guide to get you started.

Where to stay in Sydney for TopMusicLive

Massive thank you to Laura Kahar for writing this Sydney Stay Guide!

Youโ€™re coming to Sydney for TopMusicLive 2026 at the Roslyn Packer Theatre.

(Wait, you’ve not bought your ticket yet? What are you waiting for!)

Youโ€™re going to love it!

Sydney in April is my favourite time of year.

The mornings are crisp but not cold. The harbour light turns soft and golden. The air feels fresh in that โ€œletโ€™s go do somethingโ€ kind of way. And if youโ€™re a surfer like me, the swell quietly starts coming back to life.

Itโ€™s that sweet spot where the city feels energised but calm. Alive but not chaotic.

Walsh Bay, where the theatre sits, is one of my favourite pockets of Sydney. Timber wharves, water on both sides, creative energy in the buildings. You walk along that boardwalk and you can feel somethingโ€™s about to happen.

And for a room full of music teachers? Oh, weโ€™re going to make some noise in the best way.

Sydney is beautifully compact.

Choose your base well and you can walk most of it. Harbour beside you, coffee in hand, conference buzz building.

Below, Iโ€™ve broken it down simply:

  • The best areas
  • Real walking times
  • Public transport clarity
  • Hotels under $200, $250, $300 (please note: prices were correct at time of reserach 13/2 and are subject to change)

Smart positioning so you can land, settle in, and walk into that theatre feeling confident, energised, and ready.

Welcome to my city! Letโ€™s find your Sydney base.

Please note: Unless specified, we donโ€™t have deals with any of these venues. This is just a list of suggested locations and pricing options.

  1. Please can somebody get back to me re accomodation. All places listed on the email e.g. Shrangri-La under $300โ€ฆon line it is $1000 plus per night. I phoned and NO ONE had any record of deals for TopMusic at the rates listed. It is during school holidays of course so rates may be higher. I wanted to know where everyone else was staying so I could have company since I am coming alone from NZ. My ph no is +6421315609โ€ฆCheers

    • Suzanne!! How exciting that youโ€™re coming. I look forward to meeting you.

There is no โ€˜TopMusicLiveโ€™ rate. The hotels were my suggestions, based on the pricing research I completed on the 13 Feb. Given it is mid April, the prices could have increased.

Are you wanting the closest walking distance? Sydney Harbour is an option. That was the old Holiday Inn and super nice stroll.

Or what is your budget per night? I can help you source some more.

      Thanks for your patience!
      Laura
