2017 in Review: Webinars, Courses and More

2017 review webinar courses

Let’s keep looking back at 2017 in our review series. Today, we take a look at the free piano webinars we ran during the year. If you missed out on one, you can still catch a webinar replay by registering. Head to this page to find out how.

Also, why not catch up on our other 2017 in Review series? Check out snippets and links to our best posts, podcasts and courses of what was a huge year of creative piano teaching resources.

No Book Beginners

Ever thought of teaching your beginner students with no book whatsoever for the first 10 weeks of their lessons?

I ran a webinar and released a 10-week course this year on how to teach beginner students without a book.

It was an absolute hit and so many teachers have downloaded my course and used it with their students. The feedback has been great!

You can still access my free webinar and the first three lessons of the course for free. Register for the webinar by clicking here.

To access the full 10-part course, as well as other high-quality piano teaching courses, join TopMusicPro today, a collaborative community of professional teachers from around the globe.

Studio Marketing

I teamed up with the Music Mentor Group to release a very special studio marketing course exclusively to TopMusicPro.

The 7-part course looks at everything from branding yourself to online marketing and the role of print and other forms of marketing. It was a crash course in piano business and marketing.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, click here to find out how you can join TopMusicPro today.

We also ran a completely free online training session on studio marketing. It focuses on five ways you can maximise your impact when it comes to marketing in a variety of ways.

In the webinar, we covered…

  • What are the most important things to put on your website (and see our examples)?
  • The Top 3 things to remember about branding and logos and where to find help with design.
  • How to ensure you don’t waste money with print marketing and find out what works today.
  • All about Facebook – do you need a page? What’s the difference between Profiles and Pages? How to get started.
  • Making the most out of flyers and business cards – getting both the information and design right, first time.
  • Top 5 retention strategies for piano studios. Keeping your students is just as important as finding new ones!

4 Chord Composing

A hugely popular piano teaching course and webinar I released this year was my 4 Chord Composing course. This is an exclusive 10-part composing course for TopMusicPro members, but I have offered the first three modules as a free download – you can find that below.

I am surprised at how many teachers don’t take advantage of teaching chords to their students.

There are so many advantages of teaching chords, from improving key signature knowledge, helping students compose and improvise to learning pop music – the opportunities with chords really are endless.

Group Piano Teaching

Have you ever wondered if group piano teaching is for you? Not only is group piano a great way to build community and engagement, it can also be a great way to build your income.

In this free training, see group teaching specialist Debra Perez live teaching in her studio and get answers to all your questions about group teaching.

If you have been interested in expanding your studio or just are nervous about starting something new, then this webinar will walk you through how to convert to group piano teaching.

Building and Updating Your Studio Website

Do you have a website that could need updating?

Websites are increasingly the number one way potential students will find you, so make sure it looks snazzy, modern and enticing.

It can be pretty overwhelming trying to build a website by scratch, but it can be done.

Nicola Cantan put together an online studio website launchpad course and ran a free webinar to help show you how you can make a beautiful website that will attract students to your services.
