Welcome to Teaching Blues Guitar in 5 Levels!

Michael Gumley, here. Blues music is one of the most important genres for any aspiring guitar player to learn. It’s also one of the best genres for guitar teachers to guide their students through as modern genres like jazz, rock and metal all evolved from the blues once upon a time. Traditionally, most students are taught the blues in the context of using full open string chords. Unfortunately, this means they often have to wait anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months before they can start learning the blues. Even then, when they finally begin learning, it often sounds disjointed because most beginner students can’t transition between full open chords fluently for a couple of months. In this mini-course on Teaching Blues Guitar in 5 Easy Levels, you will learn five simple lessons that you can take anybody through, even a beginner having their very first lesson.
